AMT brings major cost savings to Atlas Air
Dateline: 3 April 2002
Irish based aviation industry solutions provider, Aircraft Management Technologies (AMT), today announced a contract with Atlas Air, a major cargo airline based in Purchase, New York. This agreement will achieve substantial cost savings and operational improvements through the deployment of the AMT's eTechlog™ software platform. The eTechlog™ platform is an innovative wireless solution that allows integration of an airline's critical processes on the flight deck and replaces the paper forms used to manage commercial aircraft. The eTechlog™ application allows electronic entry of operations and maintenance information by flight and ground crew, and tracking, management and reporting of that data using web services via the internet.
The deal will be worth over $1M dollars to AMT over the period of the contract and includes provisions for extending the platform applications into further areas of Atlas' operations.
Chuck Dayton, Director, Maintenance Process, Atlas Air commented: "We are very excited about this initiative and we are confident that we can achieve substantial cost savings, whilst making significant improvements in our overall operation".
AMT, which was founded in Dublin in late 2000, develops information system technology to automate and streamline operations within the aviation industry. AMT's eTechlog™ platform offers secure, wireless transmission of aircraft operations and technical data via XML technology and portable computing devices. Flight and ground crew input operations and maintenance information, which in turn is transmitted to a web services based Aircraft Data Server during the aircraft turnaround cycle.
Mr. Bernard Hensey, Chief Executive of AMT said: "In the current international climate it is imperative that airlines cut costs and improve process reliability without compromising safety. We are delighted to partner with Atlas and we believe that the implementation of eTechlog™ presents the airline with a real opportunity to improve both financial and operational performance."
