AMT-SYBEX, the Utilities, Transport and Energy Retail consultancy and systems integrator, has announced a partnership with Similarity Systems, a leading provider of enterprise Data Quality Management solutions. The relationship addresses the increasing demand for a robust and cohesive approach to data quality problems, which is driven by the need for improved operational efficiencies and regulatory compliance across AMT-SYBEX’s client base.

Under the agreement, AMT-SYBEX has added Similarity Systems ATHANOR enterprise Data Quality Management suite to its portfolio of Asset Management, Service Provider, and Customer and Information Support solutions. This will extend AMT-SYBEX’s offering to be able to offer its clients a more effective Data Quality Management solution that is fully integrated within its proprietary implementation methodology AIM.

“The cat is out of the bag and we felt it was time to act,” commented Andy Miller, Managing Director, AMT-SYBEX. “Our customers, their customers and the regulators are demanding an end to the disruption caused by inaccurate, inappropriate and misleading data in their repositories. We are confident that our partnership with Similarity will provide a way out of the data mire. This will be achieved by integrating our DQM (Data Quality Management) methodology, borne out of years of industry experience, with the powerful technical features in the ATHANOR product. This combination of knowledge, experience and technical power will offer a comprehensive suite of DQM services which will include solutions in the areas of data analysis, cleansing, migration, warehousing and ongoing data quality auditing.”

Garry Moroney, Chief Executive Officer, Similarity Systems further reinforced this view, adding, “More and more organizations are realizing the high cost of poor quality data. The requirement for reliable data is focused on the need to comply with increasingly stringent regulations and to improve operational efficiencies and asset management capabilities. The only way to satisfy the requirements of regulators and the business is through the implementation of an end-to–end data quality management solution.”
