Strategy

At Delta Partners, we have one goal: to help great entrepreneurs in Ireland and Britain to build great technology companies. That's what drives us and everything we do - from our investment strategy to how we organise ourselves.

Our investment strategy is simple: be the first venture capital investor in technology companies that seek to create new markets.

Our ideal investment opportunities include spin-offs of development teams from international or domestic technology companies or campus companies. We focus on early stage investing - generally seed or first round - and take a hands-on, value adding approach to companies in our target sectors. These sectors are information technology, communications,  and healthcare.

Our investments range in size up to €4-5 million. Typically we invest €0.5-3 million initially (occasionally less) and grow this over the life of the investment. We invest for the long haul and look for entrepreneurs with a similar perspective. Where larger amounts are required, we work with a set of partner venture capital firms throughout Europe.

We have a structure unlike most other venture capital companies. We are a partnership in the true sense of the word. We avoid the organisational bureaucracy of other venture firms who have multiple layers of approval. When you talk to someone at Delta Partners, you are talking to a decision maker. We function as a team, all working together to help our portfolio companies succeed. Each portfolio company has access to the combined resources of our entire firm - whether it's to help recruit a new executive, find new partnership opportunities or get advice on a strategic move.
