Shay Garvey
Shay spent the initial 10 years of his career working with Exxon (Canada), Corning Process Systems (UK) and McKinsey and Co Inc (France). He was subsequently the principal in a number of start-ups in Ireland before joining Delta in 1994.
Shay represents Delta on the Boards of Aircraft Maintenance Technologies (AMT) and Branded Payment Solutions (BPS).
He has also served on the Boards of Toucan Technology, sold to PMC Sierra (NASDAQ: PMCS), Data and Records Management, sold to P&O (now Carnival Cruise Line, FTSE: CCL), Exceptis Technologies, sold to Trintech Plc (NASDAQ:TTPA) and Improveline sold to Homeserve (FTSE250: HSV).
Shay was Chairman of the Irish Venture Capital Association (IVCA) in 2004/05 and has served on the Board of the European Venture Capital Association (EVCA). He is a member of the European Leadership Council for the Harvard Business School.
Shay received an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School, an MSc (Eng) from University New Brunswick, Canada, and a BSc (Chem. Eng) from University College Dublin.
